A healthy diet is as important as a workout

You lift heavy weights in the morning and gobble up a plate full of junk food in the evening and think you’ll gain the desired muscles? Sorry to say but even after months of shedding a lot of sweat, this way you will never reach your target.

We usually put all the emphasis on circuit training, treadmill and cardio and think we are doing everything perfectly. On the very first day of the gym, our trainer gives us a diet chart and asks us to strictly follow it. After a few days, the chart is abandoned in some corner of the house. Before you go on to do that, you must know that exercise is useless until you follow the strict diet schedule as both work together in making you fit.

You can skip a workout but not diet

If we talk in terms of weight loss, research has been done for comparing the effect of food and exercise. The results show that 80 percent of work is executed by a healthy meal while 20 percent is accomplished by your rigorous training.

Fiona Tuck, a renowned nutritionist, had once compared food and physical activity in her interview and said that 40 minutes of weight training nullifies the effect of two beers while 45 minutes of fast walk cuts the effect of one doughnut. This showsit takes intense amount of exercise to burna little bit of unhealthy food.

There have been a lot of cases where people lost weight just by consuming healthy and limited food while not working out at all.

Workout is for muscles, diet is for overall health

Undoubtedly, hitting the gym everyday religiously will give you a toned and brawny demeanour but what about cardiovascular diseases, obesity and other chronic health conditions? Exercise does not completely fight the risk of suffering from serious diseases in the future.

There’s no denying that jogging and aerobics contribute to keeping the functions of your heart normal and smooth but when you go on consuming the greasy junk food, the effect of all the efforts come down to zero.

Healthy diet boosts your workout strength

Calories, nutrients and energy provide the necessary enhancement to your stamina which contributes to the increased timing of your workout sessions. Well, the hardcore body builders don’t drink a mug full of banana shake just for flaunting their appetite. Bananas are a major source of protein and if you wish to raise the bar of your stamina and strength, you need this protein.

So, next time when you plan to hit McDonalds immediately after you had an intense workout as you are extremely hungry think twice, because you will be undoing all your efforts of the workout.

Good diet develops a healthy mind

Often we all notice that we feel unusually good after eating something healthy and nutritious. It is a science-backed theory that in achieving sound mental health and enlightened mood, a healthy diet plays a crucial role.

Many tests have been performed around the world to find the connection between diet and mind. After performing a deep study on thousands of people, conclusions stated that people who have the habit of over-eating and high sugar- food intake, mostly feel tired and drowsy.

On the other hand, the group of people which takes meals full of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables tend to be active and cheerful almost throughout the day. Thus, if you are facing the problem of feeling low and demotivated at all times, you need to rethink on your eating habits.
